Birthday Music

Pokemon party supplies and invitations are not easy to find. You can print your own invites and thank-yous using the DLTK web site. You can also print out find-a-words, crosswords, and other paper-and-pencil games there. But most Pokemon-themed parties will be for kids in an age group, such as 7 to 12, where children need to move around and burn energy. Here are some active Pokemon-themed games.

The Name on the Back Game

On a sheet of sticky labels, write the name of various Pokemon characters, such as Ash, Pikachu, Chimchar, Piplup, Turtwig, and others. Don't let the children see the list. Have them come to you one at a time and face away from you so you can peel and stick one of the names on their back. Once they are all labeled, let them ask each other yes-and-no questions such as "Am I a fire type?" or "Do I evolve?". Prizes can be awarded for either the first child who got it right or each child gets a prize once they have guessed correctly who they are. Hand out a Pokemon trading card as the prize.
